Effects of Pulsatile and Non-Pulsatile Perfusion On Oxygenator Fibers During Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Bypass

نویسندگان

چکیده

In cardiopulmoner operations patients can be perfused with a pulsatile or nonpulsatile pump mode. The extra energy maintained by the perfusion may have different effects on patient and oxygenator fiber rather than perfusion. Especially effect of fibers isn’t clearly known. purpose this study is to investigate non-pulsatile blood flows fibers. 18 out 32 that had an pediatric open heart surgery was chosen according their aortic clamp times. 9 were in mode, other collected before (T1), (T2), after (T3), 1st intensive care hour (T4) day (T5) order compare results whole plasma proteins. At end operation 10 cm removed from bundle taken into phosfate buffer saline (PBS) solution stabile outcome. Whole micro protein measurements applied both first sonicated solution. No harmful cells proteins observed results. More cell aggregation total adsorption mode better compability over caused microcirculation.

Clinical comparison of pulsatile and nonpulsatile perfusion during cardiopulmonary bypass.

Controversy exists concerning the utilization of pulsatile flow during cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) with regard to improved patient outcomes. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate pulsatile perfusion in patients undergoing CPB in a clinical setting. Seventy patients undergoing open heart surgery for repair of valvular or congenital heart disease were prospectively entered into the st...

Peripheral vascular resistance and angiotensin II levels during pulsatile and non-pulsatile cardiopulmonary bypass.

The effects of pulsatile and non-pulsatile cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) on levels of peripheral vascular resistance and plasma angiotensin II (AII) have been studied in 24 patients submitted to elective cardiac surgical procedures. Twelve patients had conventional non-pulsatile perfusion throughout the period of CPB (non-pulsatile group), while 12 had pulsatile perfusion during the central peri...

Pulsatile flow during cardiopulmonary bypass preserves postoperative microcirculatory perfusion irrespective of systemic hemodynamics.

The onset of nonpulsatile cardiopulmonary bypass is known to deteriorate microcirculatory perfusion, but it has never been investigated whether this may be prevented by restoration of pulsatility during extracorporeal circulation. We therefore investigated the distinct effects of nonpulsatile and pulsatile flow on microcirculatory perfusion during on-pump cardiac surgery. Patients undergoing co...

Pulsatile Flow During Cardiopulmonary Bypass: Is it Beneficial?

____________ _ (}. Extra-Corpor. Techno/. 20[ 1]: p. 24-29, 60 references, Spring 1988) Pulsatile perfusion has been a topic of great controversy for many years. This paper reviews historical aspects of pulsatile perfusion, as well as current and conceptual aspects of pulsatile perfusion. The positive and negative points of pulsatile perfusion are discussed so the reader may draw conclusions in...

Complement activation during cardiopulmonary bypass: quantitative study of effects of methylprednisolone and pulsatile flow.

Forty four patients undergoing open heart surgery were divided into three groups. Group 1 (17 patients) underwent routine anaesthesia and surgery; group 2 (17 patients) received two doses of methylprednisolone (30 mg/kg), one during induction of anaesthesia and the other immediately before induction of cardiopulmonary bypass; and group 3 (10 patients) received pulsatile flow while undergoing pu...
